Earth 4.5 Billion Years Ago: The Hadean Eon
The violent birth of Earth through solar nebula accretion, the giant Moon-forming collision with protoplanet Theia, cooling of the molten crust, and initial liquid water condensation.
Geological & Paleobiological Data Integration In Progress
This epoch belongs to Earth’s deep-time evolutionary continuum (4.6 Ga – 4.0 Ga). We are actively calibrating tectonic continental drift meshes and paleobiology fossil coordinates for this period.
Our interactive map engine is currently dedicated to displaying our 12 collected layers across 5,500 years of recorded human civilization—including 13,800+ dated border shapes, 30 ancient wonders, classical archaeology, and trade routes.
Epochal Mechanics & Planetary Evolution
During the Hadean Eon (named after Hades, Greek god of the underworld), Earth formed from circumstellar dust and planetesimals colliding in the early solar system. A Mars-sized protoplanet named Theia impacted the molten Earth, ejecting debris that coalesced to form the Moon. As extreme asteroid bombardment abated, the planet cooled, forming the first basaltic crust and steam-condensed oceans.
Key Evolutionary & Geological Milestones:
- •Accretion from solar protoplanetary disk (~4.54 Ga)
- •Giant impact hypothesis: Formation of the Moon by protoplanet Theia
- •Iron catastrophe: Core differentiation creating Earth’s geomagnetic dynamo
- •First liquid water oceans and condensation from volcanic steam atmospheres
